Book review

Walk Like You Have Somewhere To Go- Lucille O'Neal and Allison Samuels
I felt this book was an easy read. A little too easy, maybe. To be honest, parts of it felt "glossed over". Almost like I was reading the Cliff notes version of her story. Still her personality did shine through, and the book was interesting enough to keep me reading until the end.

I Miss Him

My neighbor told me there was a basset in the pound, so I went right away to check it out. They brought him out to a little get acquainted area. He greeted me like he already knew me and had been waiting for me to come pick him up. Honestly, the look in is eyes and on his face said, "Oh, there you are. I've been waiting. Well, come on, let's go." So I filled out the papers, paid the fees, and brought him home right then. Smart, happy, sweet, funny, and in perfect timing for my sister's graduation. The last time I visited my sister, as I was getting ready to go, I got on the floor and gave him lots of hugs and kisses. I told him he was a good boy and I loved him. I remember thinking, "He's getting old,  I'd better give Boo extra goodbyes, what if I never see him again?"  So, now it's true. And I miss him.

An Honest Love- Review

An Honest Love by Kathleen Fuller

A light, enjoyable book set in an Amish community. I think this book is part of a series, because there were many references to previous events, but there is no problem following the story line without reading the previous book. There were quite a few characters to keep track of.  The story mainly focuses on four main characters: Lucas, Anne, Aaron, and Elisabeth. After just completing the book, nothing stands out about Lucas. He is a Amish cliche: hardworking, kind, and faithful. Anne is admirable for her determination to start a new life, and make her store successful. Her stubbornness led to some bad choices, though, and she started to get frustrating.  Aaron is also determined to overcome the past, while Elisabeth is focused on helping Aaron out of his self-imposed solitude. They make a good couple.
The entire conflict in the story is simply lack of communication between the main characters. A Zombie attack in the middle would have livened things up a little bit. Lucas could have showed off his mad pitchfork skills and become a hero in Anne's eyes. Just kidding. If you are looking for a light, easy Amish romance, this is the book for you.
